Pinnacle High School

Pinnacle High School is a public high school located in the north valley of Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona. PHS opened in 2000,〔 and is a part of the Paradise Valley Unified School District (PVUSD).〔http://cmweb.pvschools.net/siteweb/HighSchools.htm〕 The school’s athletic teams and/or clubs are known as the Pinnacle Pioneers, and the school's colors are blue and white with red lining. Administration also includes assistant principals Brenda Corte, Mike Tesensky, and Dean of Students Deanne Dykstra.〔
PHS was named as one of Newsweek’s best 1,200 Schools in America during the 2007 school year.. It was awarded best Public High School in the state of Arizona for academics. In 2011 the school achieved a A+ rating by the Arizona Educational Foundation.〔(Pinnacle High School, Phoenix, AZ )〕 The Arizona Department of Education labeled Pinnacle High School an Excelling school.〔
== Campus ==
Pinnacle High School's campus includes seven buildings, two baseball fields, two softball fields, one football field, two practice football fields, one lacrosse field, a track, eight tennis courts, ten batting/racquetball cages, a student parking lot, and a staff parking lot. Building A (administration) includes all administrative, counseling, and attendance offices. Building C includes all physics, biology, mathematics, fine arts classrooms, along with a daycare. Building D includes an auditorium, performing arts, and art classrooms. Building E includes two gymnasiums, two weight rooms, a driver's education room, and all physical education classrooms. Building F includes all English, foreign language, history/geography/social studies, etc., and other elective classes. There's also Building G which is the cafeteria and three culinary arts classrooms, and an ITC (Information Technology Center) which included all computer labs and the library. These buildings are centered on a courtyard, with covered pathways connecting all the buildings. In 2012, an outdoor stage was added for events during the lunch period along with random special events throughout the year. Last, but not least, a student parking lot, three staff parking lots, and a bus lane (132 school buses serve PHS on a daily basis).
